Mr. Newman is a member of the firm's Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice group, Creditors' Rights practice group and Real Estate practice group. He represents creditors, including real estate developers, banks, and other businesses in all types of bankruptcy cases.  Mr. Newman also advises clients with respect to pre-bankruptcy issues and options.  He also represents developers and businesses in all aspects of lease negotiations, lease preparation and lease enforcement. He has represented commercial real estate developers in many significant retail bankruptcy cases filed throughout the country in the past 29 years.

 

Mr. Newman has been a frequent lecturer and contributing writer for seminars and conferences sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers, New York State Bar Association, the Oneida and Onondaga County Bar Associations, the Central New York Bankruptcy Bar Association and the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association.  He has also served as president of the Central New York Bankruptcy Bar Association and Past Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee of the Business Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
