Robert F. Silkey was a speaker at a recent seminar entitled "Navigating the New Wicks Law-How Will It Effect Your Construction Projects?"

Attorney Robert F. Silkey recently spoke at a seminar sponsored by C&S Companies in

Syracuse.  The presentation covered New York State's Wicks law and labor law and discussed changes in the monetary thresholds; opting-out procedures, prequalification of bidders; bid shopping; project labor agreements; apprenticeship requirements and other changes as well as their impact on construction projects subsequent to July of 2008.

Mr. Silkey is a member of Menter, Rudin & Trivelpiece, P.C.’s Construction Law practice group. He handles various matters within the construction industry including mechanic’s liens, construction litigation, arbitration and mediation, lien law trusts, prime contract negotiations, subcontracts, purchase orders and negotiations among owners, developers, and financial institutions.

Mr. Silkey is also a member of the Labor Relations and Employment Law practice group. He has represented management in matters involving OSHA, New York State, the United States Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board. He has counseled management in employment law as well as in the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
