Marcy Robinson Dembs participated with a panel of practioners in an interactive discussion on "Saving the Family Cottage" held recently in Clayton, New York.
Topics discussed included strategies in planning for multi-generational owners of camp or cottage; creating a liability buffer between cottage and owners; utilizing life insurance to create an endowment to finance the camp and ways to descrease the estate tax impact by fractional ownership and title.
Ms. Dembs manages the firm’s Estate and Trust Planning practice group. She maintains offices in the firm’s Syracuse and Watertown locations. She has been a frequent lecturer for the New York State Bar Association as well as for local civic groups and insurance professional organizations. Ms. Dembs also appears regularly on WWNY-TV, the Watertown, NY CBS affiliate.
