Mitchell J. Katz & Julian B. Modesti Presented a Seminar on Non-Competition Agreements
A breakfast seminar was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at the Genesee Grande Hotel in Syracuse, which introduced the attendees to the fundamentals of Non-Competition Agreements. Mitchell J. Katz and Julian B. Modesti described how and why these agreements are used and how they affect your profession and your business.
Mitchell J. Katz is a 1986 cum laude graduate of Boston University School of Law. Mr. Katz is the manager of the firm’s Litigation practice group. Mr. Katz handles complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, in matters involving creditors’ rights, lender liability defense, limited liability companies and partnerships, contract disputes, employers’ rights under non-competition and confidentiality agreements, and contested commercial foreclosure actions. Mr. Katz also provides litigation support to the firm’s bankruptcy group in complex matters arising under and in connection with cases filed under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Julian B. Modesti is a 1994 graduate of Vermont Law School, where he obtained both a law degree and a Masters in Environmental Law, magna cum laude. Mr. Modesti is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Environmental Law practice groups. Experienced in both state and federal courts, his commercial litigation practice includes the representation of individuals, partnerships and corporations in disputes involving contracts, unfair competition, trade secrets and professional malpractice. Mr. Modesti also handles appeals in both state and federal courts on a wide variety of civil law issues. He is also a certified arbitrator and mediator. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Modesti served as an environmental consultant with McLaren/Hart Environmental Engineering Corporation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
