Antonio E. Caruso and Josephine Yang-Patyi were presenters at a seminar entitled Practical Skills – Mortgage Foreclosures and Workouts sponsored by the New York State Bar Association in Syracuse on November 19, 2008. The seminar provided a practical discussion on each step of a foreclosure proceeding. Additional topics included foreclosures of mechanic’s liens, non-judicial foreclosure of commercial mortgages, and the various ways by which mortgage loans in default can be “worked out”.
Mr. Caruso is a member of the firm's Commercial Transactions and Real Estate practice groups. He handles commercial real estate property concerns, including purchase and sale agreements, closings, leases and title insurance. In the area of real estate property development, Mr. Caruso’s practice includes zoning and subdivision matters, mortgage foreclosures and workouts. He also assists clients with the creation of corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities.
Ms. Yang-Patyi is a member of both the firm’s Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy as well as Litigation practice groups. She is experienced in handling bankruptcy appeals on the district court level and defending avoidance actions in bankruptcy cases throughout the United States.
