Josephine Yang-Patyi selected for Women Who Mean Business Award

Josephine Yang-Patyi was selected as an Honoree for the first American Red Cross Women Who Mean Business Award.  She was one of twelve women who was recognized for their energy, insight and passion for excellence and achievement in Syracuse.  There was an awards ceremony held on October 29, 2009 at Onondaga Community College, and Channel 9 News also interviewed the honorees and aired same on their Bridge Street program. 

Ms. Yang-Patyi is a member of both the firm’s Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy as well as Litigation practice groups.  She has represented creditors, debtors and trustees, handled bankruptcy appeals and defended avoidance actions in bankruptcy proceedings throughout the United States.  Ms. Yang-Patyi handles litigation in cases involving creditors’ rights, contract disputes, partnership disputes, fraudulent conveyance, estate administration and employment discrimination.  She also supervises the firm’s collection staff.  Ms. Yang-Patyi has successfully conducted non-jury trials in bankruptcy courts, state courts and hearings before administrative agencies. 

Ms. Yang-Patyi has lectured on bankruptcy and collection issues for the New York State Bar Association.  She served on the board of Catholic Charities of Onondaga County and is currently serving as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Erie Canal Museum and as a board member of the Syracuse Corinthian Club.  Ms. Yang-Patyi is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
