Robert F. Silkey appointed to National Committees of The Associated General Contractors of America
Robert F. Silkey has been appointed to the following National Committees of The Associated General Contractors of America: Union Contractors Committee, Surety Bonding Committee and Open Shop Committee. As a Committee member Mr. Silkey will become involved with matters of interest to the members of section, work with other committee members to develop policy plans and strategies applicable to an ever changing construction and labor market, develop legislative policies and initiatives and provide guidance and input to the committee chairman in response to questions and issues posed by other members of the committee as well as members of AGC.
Mr. Silkey is a member of the firm’s Construction Law practice group. He handles various matters within the construction industry including claims, mechanic’s liens, construction litigation, arbitration and mediation, lien law trusts, prime contract negotiations, subcontracts, purchase orders and negotiations among owners, developers, and financial institutions.
Mr. Silkey is also a member of the Labor Relations and Employment Law practice group. He has represented management in matters involving OSHA, New York State, Department of Labor, the United States Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board. He has counseled management in employment law and labor relations law including in the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, project labor agreements, grievances and multi-employer bargaining groups.
