Ms. Yang-Patyi is a member of both the firm’s Litigation and Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice groups.  She represents various continuing care providers for the aging throughout Upstate New York, and governmental agencies on Medicaid and asset recovery matters.  She supervises the firm's collection matters, especially post judgment enforcement matters.  In addition, she regularly defends creditors in avoidance actions and employers in employment discrimination matters.  She is a passionate advocate for creditors in different forums and has successfully conducted non-jury trials in state courts, bankruptcy courts and hearings before administrative agencies.  Ms. Yang-Patyi has also successfully prosecuted appeals in state courts and federal courts, including in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. 

Ms. Yang-Patyi was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan and attended high school in Honolulu, Hawaii.  While in law school, she served as an editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review.  Before entering private practice, she served as an intern for the Hon. Burton R. Lifland, then as law clerk to the Hon. Adlai Stevenson Hardin, Jr. of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York.

Ms. Yang-Patyi currently serves on the Board of Enable of Syracuse and is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Erie Canal Museum.  She is the recipient of the 2009 Women Who Mean Business Award presented by the American Red Cross Onondaga-Oswego Chapter.  She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
